Why organizations partner with Hunter Ambrose & Co.

Our clients come to us when the mandate is complex, the role matters, and the path forward isn't obvious yet. They choose us because we say yes to work that is new, nuanced, or unbuilt — and then design the right approach around it. Some of our best work has come from firsts: searches no one had run before, where the most honest place to start was, "Yes, we can do that. Let's figure it out together."

It's no longer enough to say "we've done this before, let's repeat it." Markets move fast, expectations are immediate, and a misaligned hire is costly. We keep expanding our network, deepening our sector knowledge, and refining our process so every engagement reflects where business is going — not just where it's been.

From our founder | Nicole

"Some of our best searches were ones we'd never done before. I'll always tell a client, 'Yes, we can do that' — even if it's a first for us. That's not recklessness. It's recognizing how fast business is changing. Our clients and candidates don't have the luxury of slow cycles and rigid playbooks. They deserve a partner who's learning and adapting as quickly as they are." — Hunter Ambrose & Co.

Beyond the search: a community of curiosity

Since 2020, many professionals and colleagues have become more siloed — geographically, professionally, socially. We want to change that.

Starting fall 2026, Hunter Ambrose & Co. will host a monthly series of conversations and events built not around industries, but around people and ideas.

We're expanding our podcast to bring in global voices alongside leaders doing meaningful work close to home. From Office Hours and The Hire webinars for job seekers to conversations with builders, operators, and creators, the goal is simple: introduce people who'd never otherwise meet, and surface the kind of thinking that makes organizations — and careers — stronger. Size isn't the point. The right introduction, at the right time, is.

"How can we be of service?"

“How can we be of service?” is not a slogan for us, it is a discipline. When we ask that question, we are inviting the real brief — the pressures, constraints, and ambitions that rarely make it into a job description. Service, to me, is inseparable from accountability: to the resources you invest, the timelines you are managing, and the results you are expected to deliver. Every search and every introduction begins there — with a sincere commitment to be of service to the work that truly needs to get done.

Evolving the model

Executive search hasn't changed much since it emerged after World War II. The old percentage-based fee structure is familiar, but in a market that demands fiscal discipline, ambiguous pricing isn't a real partnership.

We believe clients deserve full clarity before they ever sign. That's why we work on a transparent, flat-fee model wherever possible, with scope, cost, and timeline spelled out from day one. Clients don't come back to us for "value" in the abstract — they come back because they know exactly how their resources are being used and how we're held accountable for the result.

Where we come from

Our foundation was built inside complex, mission-driven healthcare organizations — environments where risk, compliance, marketing, finance, people strategy, and patient care all collide in real time.

As healthcare continues to account for a significant share of the country’s GDP, that experience has been more than context; it has been a proving ground for operating where scrutiny, pace, and outcomes are non‑negotiable.

That work taught us to think lean, communicate boldly, and listen for what is actually being asked, not just what is written in the job description. It is the same discipline that has allowed the firm to expand successfully and repeatedly into other markets, wherever the stakes, visibility, and expectations demand that level of rigor.

Who we work with

A Hunter Ambrose & Co. client wants a partner, not a vendor. You care about cultural fit as much as credentials, fiscal discipline as much as innovation, and you're willing to be transparent so we can do our best work. You move with urgency but won't compromise on clarity or integrity.

You value direct communication, candid feedback, and a process that respects everyone's time. You expect your search partner to challenge assumptions, ask sharper questions, and bring you a slate built for today's realities and tomorrow's strategy.
